Workshop at the beach

For the local library I hosted two workshops. One focussed on landscape photography and the other on wildlife photography. On the first evening Joost and I give a presentation about the theory and the next week we meet in the field so the participants can put the theory into practice.

On the evening the evening we planned the landscape photography it was raining cats and dogs so we agreed to meet the next Monday. After the grey and raining evening we where treated with a fantastic sunset. It was slightly clouded but at the horizon the setting sun illuminated the sky in many colors.

Last week we returned of a family holiday to Mallorca, Spain. There where a couple of mornings I was able to spend some time in the area where we where staying, Can Picafort (better option is Port of Alcudia which is closer to S'Albufera). I've visited Mallorca twice before and knew that the eastern part is more interesting and not as busy as the west. There's also a large marshland, S' Albufera, which is an interesting birding site.

Around the hotel there where a lot of Spotted Flycatchers and Pallid Swifts. On the beach one can find the Audouins Gulls, early in the morning they search the beach before they are overtaken by the tourists. So an early start is an must, also because of [...]
